Safe places scheme

The Safe Places Scheme aims to increase the safety and confidence of vulnerable people when they visit Halifax town centre.

Safe place scheme flyer image

In 2011, Calderdale Council and its partners launched the Safe Places Scheme. This is to increase the safety and confidence of vulnerable people when they visit Halifax town centre.

The Safe Place scheme means that busy public places can offer support to vulnerable adults who may need help.

Buildings displaying the Safe Place poster include:

  • Halifax Bus Station.
  • Central Library and Archive.
  • Calderdale College.

These public places are demonstrating that they are a safe haven and can offer support if an individual is distressed, being harassed, bullied, or is feeling unwell.
