The Cabinet's budget proposals for 2025/6 were presented on Monday 13th January 2025, marking the start of a period of public consultation.

National recognition for net zero progress

Our work to tackle the climate emergency has received national recognition. We are one of only 10 councils shortlisted in the Net Zero category of the prestigious LGC Awards.

50 Years of Calderdale

2024 is a milestone year as it marks 50 years since Calderdale and the Council were formed in 1974. It also sees the end of our Vision 2024 and the start of our iconic 'Year of Culture'.

Fostering is... Everything

We worked with over 100 councils and children’s trusts to make a powerful national film to promote local authority fostering.

‘Everything’ highlights the long-term benefits fostering can have, with relationships between foster families and children lasting well into adulthood.
