To book a registrar for a ceremony that will take place in Calderdale, email: ceremonies.team@calderdale.gov.uk.
Please include:
- Venue name.
- Ceremony date and time.
- Your phone number.
- Nationality and immigration status. (Only if either or you are not British citizens.)
When you can book
Our registrars perform ceremonies every day of the year except:
- Christmas Day.
- Boxing Day.
- New Year's Day.
You can book up to 12 months (to the day) in advance of your ceremony.
Ceremonies within 2 months of the booking date are only accepted if you can get an appointment to give notice.

You can book ceremonies for the Register Office and Spring Hall a minimum of three months in advance. We do not have any dates available before this.
All bookings are:
- first come first served;
- and subject to a registrar being available.
Cost
The price and amount required upfront depends on the date and venue, see: Ceremony fees.
Change your ceremony
Subject to us being able to fit in your new booking, you can change the:
- date;
- time;
- venue.
Any payments you have made will be transferred. We will let you know if any extra fees apply.
Note: If you change the venue after you give notice, you must give notice and pay the fee again.
Cancel your ceremony
You can do this at any time.
Note: We do not refund:
- notice fees;
- or non-refundable booking fees.
