All vehicles must pass a compliance test before they can be used as a Private Hire or Hackney Carriage vehicle.

What is a taxi compliance test?

This is a mechanical inspection of a vehicle, carried out to DVSA MOT standards as a minimum. It is to make sure a vehicle is roadworthy and safe to use.

On the day of your test

Take your vehicle to:

  • Please arrive five minutes before the test is due;
  • Park your vehicle in one of the two parking bays marked MOT;
  • There is no need to report to reception, the assessor will greet you at the MOT bay
  • Only one person is allowed to enter the viewing area during the Compliance Test.

Note: Please do not enter the main garage without reporting in.

Missed or cancelled appointments

If you miss an appointment for a compliance test, your fee will not be reimbursed.

Note: You can only get a refund if you give at least 24 hours notice that you want to cancel your appointment.
