The Calderdale Cultural Fund 2022-25 is a grants programme for the voluntary sector. It will help to deliver our new cultural strategy and support our Vision 2024.
Applications were invited for projects which:
- Supported cultural activities in Calderdale.
- Contributed to our cultural objectives.
Current grant holders
Following an open and competitive grants process, awards were made to the groups below. These are for three year projects from April 2022 to March 2025.
Everybody Arts
To deliver a trainee and mentoring programme for early career artists. Including four six-month traineeships and widening access to the Calderdale Culture Map.

Happy Valley Pride
To deliver three annual LGBTQ+ festivals, fifteen year round events, mentor ten young LGBTQ+ people. Also support the development of a volunteer and fundraising strategy.

Northern Broadsides
To deliver Iron People, a large-scale three-year arts project inspired by Ted Hughes books. Including family creativity days and community based projects in targeted areas of the borough.

Todmorden Orchestra
To support community workshops/rehearsals for the delivery of three annual events. A family concert, a concert of South Asian music, and a youth orchestra and choir concert.

Curious Motion
To deliver the Wellend activator project. Including 300+ creative opportunities, wellness podcasts exhibitions and engaging new volunteers. Mainly targeting older people and vulnerable groups in the Lower Valley.

Hebden Bridge Arts
To deliver the Engaging Neighbourhoods programme in partnership with local community groups. Building strong relationships with hard to reach community groups.

Handmade Parade
Delivering three Handmade Parade and Lamplighter events over the three years, including community cultural engagement and outreach activities.

Yorkshire Youth and Music
Music based workshops project specifically for new residents to Calderdale who came through asylum and refugee programmes. Encouraging participants to embrace their own cultural heritage, delivering three sharing’s per year.
