How we use your information
Calderdale Council is registered with the information Commissioners Office (ICO) under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council takes its responsibilities under the Act very seriously.
The information provided by you is collected purely to enable you to register on our online planning application system so that, if you wish to, you can comment on a planning application. Registering on the online planning application system also enables you to carry out advanced searches and track applications. Completion of this registration process constitutes explicit consent from you, for us to process your data for this purpose. Providing a name and address when submitting a comment about a planning application is a requirement under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. Your personal information will not be shared with any other organisation.
You have the right to:
- see what information is held about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have information removed from our system, unless we are required by law or a statutory purpose to keep it, by writing to: planning.applications@calderdale.gov.uk
If you feel your data has not been handled in accordance with the law, you have the right to complain. You can contact the Council’s Data Protection Officer at information.management@calderdale.gov.uk.
Your name and contact details are recorded electronically on our system to maintain up to date records. These will be kept: For a period of 5 years after you last logged into the system; or until such time as the data is reviewed by us; or removed at your request.
