Calderdale Local Access Forum

Find out what this forum is, see when meetings are held and read minutes from them.

The aim of this forum is to help advise the Council and other bodies on things such as:

  • How to improve public access to land for open-air recreation and to enjoy the area.
  • Land management.
  • How best to conserve the natural beauty and habitats of the area.

Calderdale has the largest density of Open Access Land of any district access authority in England, which includes:

  • A very high density of public rights of way.
  • The National Trust land at Hardcastle Craggs.
  • Yorkshire Water access facilities and much more.

For ideas on how to enjoy our outdoors, please visit: Visit Calderdale.
