The aim of this forum is to help advise the Council and other bodies on things such as:
- How to improve public access to land for open-air recreation and to enjoy the area.
- Land management.
- How best to conserve the natural beauty and habitats of the area.
Calderdale has the largest density of Open Access Land of any district access authority in England, which includes:
- A very high density of public rights of way.
- The National Trust land at Hardcastle Craggs.
- Yorkshire Water access facilities and much more.
