Our EMS covers preventing pollution and complying with legislation, while seeking to improve our environmental performance. It is made up of:
- The policy (see Environmental Policy Statement below):
- A register of impacts.
- The action plan.
- A review process with regular audits.

Scope of the EMS
It operates:
- Across our core activities, which includes waste, energy, water and transport management.
- Within the Regeneration and Strategy, Chief Executive and Public Services directorates.
Certified EMS: ISO 14001:2015
Our EMS is certified by Intertek. This scheme recognises organisations that go beyond the minimum needed by law.
