Anyone can ring the service and ask for advice and guidance over the phone.
To make sure relevant services get offered, referrals are via the Early Intervention Panels for:
- professionals;
- or where other services are already working with a young carer or their family.
We will then arrange a time and place to see the young carer to explain what we can offer.
If the young carer wants to take up the service, we will need a bit more information from them and sometimes school or other agencies to make sure we are providing the right service to meet all their needs. This information is gathered using the Young Carers Assessment which helps the service to make a decision about what support is offered. We feel it is important to support the whole family so we include parents or carers in this as well.
