This permit type is only valid for vehicles that are 100% electric (those that solely rely on a battery).
It allows parking in the Calderdale pay and display car parks shown below. It is also valid in most long stay on-street pay and display bays across the borough.
Eligibility
- The electric vehicle must be registered to the applicant and their residential property.
- It is only available to Calderdale residents.
You must supply
- The vehicle registration document (V5C) sent to you by the DVLA on application. Note: We will accept a photocopy of this.
To renew this type of permit
- These do not renew automatically.
- The permit holder must re-apply for a new permit.

Permit cost
- £150 per year (includes VAT).
Note: Permits are issued for the duration of 12 months.

Terms and Conditions
It is important that the driver and permit holder comply with these. They are to make sure that a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) is not issued.
- The permit is only valid in the designated long stay car parks and long stay on-street spaces around Calderdale.
- The permit does not guarantee a parking space, nor does it reserve a parking space solely for your use. Please make sure that you adhere to the T&Cs as stated on the car park information board.
- Vehicles must park wholly within a marked bay.
- A maximum of one VRM can be registered to the permit.

If you change your vehicle to another electric vehicle, you must:
- submit a request to update your vehicle details via the online permit portal;
- and upload the evidence to support the change of vehicle.
This change must be approved by the Council prior to it taking effect.
- If you wish to cancel your permit you can do this via the online permit portal. The fee paid is not refundable.
- This permit type is a trial. The scheme, eligibility, locations where valid and price will be reviewed annually.
Important note: We will not cancel PCNs where the above are not adhered to.
