Notifying when work starts on site and when work is commenced

You must notify us when work is about to start.

  • You (the duty holder) must submit a notice to us before you intend to start work. (At least two working days.)
  • You must also submit a further notice. Do this no more than five working days after the work satisfies the new definition of the commencement of work.

If we are not satisfied the work is regarded as commenced:

  • we can issue a rejection notice within four weeks of the date the commencement notice is given;
  • and the notice will include the reason why it has been rejected.

A completion certificate will be issued when we are satisfied the works meet with Building Regulations.
