We can offer the following services
MiDAS training (Minibus driver awareness scheme)
MiDAS is developed by Hampshire County Council, and managed by Community Transport Association (CTA) which is a charitable status body. MiDAS certification is recognised by RoSPA, some insurance companies (insurance discount), and all CTA members. It is valid for four years.
There are two courses available:
Standard 1 day
- Minibus legislation:

Section 19 permits - Definition Hire and Reward, Section 19 qualifier checklist;

Minibus law - Duty of Care, seat belts, bus lanes, minibus definition, drivers hours, tachographs.

- Licence requirements:
- D1 restrictions;
- Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW);
- Category B restrictions.
- Minibus driving:
- defensive driving;
- safer and fuel efficient driving;
- hazard perception.
- Driving assessment - Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) standard
Accessible 2 days
The same as above, plus:
- Assisting passengers with disabilities:
- walking;
- hearing;
- vision;
- learning.
- Transporting wheelchairs:
- securing;
- passenger lift procedures.
Both courses have theory assessments. With between three and six students per course, these are cost effective, and discounts are available for block booking and blue cards.
Blue card permit to drive
This covers:
- valid for a maximum of three years;
- categories for different vehicles;
- eyesight test - evidence of DVLA compliance;
- licence checks - evidence of driving at work policy compliance;
- declaration of health in relation to driving;
- driving assessment for those carrying passengers.
Tuition and an assessment can also be booked (the tuition is basic and not to MiDAS standard).
Minibus emergency evacuation procedures (0.5 day course)
The minibus fire evacuation course covers:
- Why fires occur;
- Risks - the probability of fire, and how to minimise it;
- Six golden rules for evacuating vehicles;
- Practical fire evacuation exercises.
Passenger assistant training scheme (PATS) (1.5 day course)
This course is managed by the Community Transport Association (CTA) on behalf of Hampshire County Council, and is recognised by all CTA members.
The Course content is similar to the Accessible components of the MiDAS training, listed above.
There is a block booking discount for up to eight candidates.

Please note:
- Where a minimum number of candidates is required for a course to run, these can be from one or more schools.
- If block booking a course, no more than the maximum number of candidates can be on the course.
- If block booking the Minibus Emergency Evacuation Procedures course, the booking must be for a minimum of 8 candidates and a maximum of 12.
- If block booking the Wheelchairs in Transportation half day course, the booking must be for a minimum of 4 candidates and a maximum of 6.
