16-19 bursary
Students attending schools in Calderdale will need to contact the student services department at their school or college. They will be able to provide more details.
For more on this, visit: The 16 to 19 bursary fund (GOV.UK).
Adult Learning Grant (ALG)
This gives financial help for learning costs to low-skilled and low-income adults who study full-time. It is for the first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
It also pays those aged 19+ up to £30 per week, during term-time. It is paid on an income assessed basis, using the learner's (and their partner's, if applicable) income. No account is taken of household income.
Care to Learn (C2L)
This gives financial support to teenage parents (including Dads). It helps with childcare costs for those who want to continue their education, or training.
For more on this, visit: Care to Learn.
Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA)
Ministers introduced this in November 1998. It supports up to 820 of the ‘most talented’ young actors and dancers to enter training, each year. The award provides for reduced fees for further education (FE) learners from the FE Fees and Maintenance Fund.
Residential Support Scheme (RSS)
Funding is available to assist learners who need to study a course which is not available locally.
