How to find us

Set at the far end of Sowerby Bridge, we are 1/4 mile from the centre.

By bus

  • It is about a 1 minute walk from the bus stop, where West Street (A58) meets Station Road.
  • You can catch the 586, 587c and 587 buses from Halifax, which run often. For bus timetables, visit: Your next bus (METRO).

By car

  • From Sowerby Bridge town centre on the A58 head towards Ripponden, go over the river and under the railway bridge.
  • Take the first left onto Station Road to get to us.
  • Please note: There is no car park.
  • There are two disabled spaces at the rear, off Victoria Rd (take the second left after the railway bridge.

By train

  • The station is on Station Road, HX6 3AF. Leave the station and head down Station Road.
  • lt is about a 5 minute walk to the end of Station Road, where you will find us.

Swimming pools

Main swimming pool

Our main swimming pool is great for fun and fitness alike. The pool is 25m x 10.5m and has both shallow and deep ends, this pool is widely accessible for all ages and capabilities.

We have a variety of swimming lessons for adults and children, as well as a timetable of varied activities.

Teaching pool

The teaching pool is a smaller and shallower pool designed specifically for younger children and teaching. This 10.5m x 7.5m pool is used for parent and child lessons such as Aqua Babies.


The gym is kitted out with state of the art Technogym equipment. In the gym you will find 45 stations that include but are not limited to:

  • Treadmills
  • X trainers
  • Bikes
  • Rowing machines
  • Steppers
  • Cable machines
  • Wattbikes

We have a fantastic range of resistance equipment these include:

  • Dumbbells (1kg - 45kg)
  • Squat rack
  • Free weights area

Please note: An induction is required for your own safety before using the gym for the first time.


Our exercise studios have semi-sprung floors and air conditioning.

They are the perfect place to lose weight, tone up, get healthy and have fun. With so many enjoyable classes on offer, you will be spoilt for choice.

Please note: Bring your own mats for classes, as these are not provided.

Vending machines

A number of soft drink and snack vending machines are available at the site. Including a bean to cup coffee machine.


There is no car park.

There is on-street parking around the centre; which includes those for blue badge holders.

We have cycle racks at the front of reception.


Sowerby Bridge Swimming Pool is registered with Changing Places.

We have:

  • Accessible toilets and showers on the ground floor and first floor.
  • A low level counter and hearing loop in reception.
  • Ground floor (unisex) changing areas that are accessed by easy opening doors. There are designated disabled changing rooms that are equipped with the required auxiliary aids.
  • Poolside hoist and shallow entrance steps with hand rails for safe access into both pools.
  • Wheelchair access to poolside seating area.
  • A lift granting access to our accessible dance studio, fitness suite and changing areas on the first floor.

Assistance dogs are allowed in all areas.
