How we use you information
Calderdale Council of Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UJ is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and is the Data Controller under the provision of the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council takes its responsibilities under the Act very seriously.
The type of information we will collect
The following information will be collected directly from you:
- Name, address, telephone number, email address.
- A copy of your public liability insurance cover.
- If applicable, a copy of your food hygiene certificate (for any food sales) and/or a completed risk assessment (for any demonstrations/activities).
Why we collect and hold this information
The processing of your personal information is required for the following purposes:
- To approve your application to hire a stall at an event at Shibden Hall or Bankfield Museum.
- To enter into a contract with you to hire a stall.
- For the administration and organisation of our craft fairs, to reserve stalls, monitor payments are received and ensure the safety of the event.
- To contact you to advise you about future events and give you the opportunity to participate.
The lawful basis for the processing of your information
- Article 6(1)(b) – processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.
Sharing your personal data
Your personal information will not be shared with any third parties without your consent unless the law allows us to do so.
How long we will keep your information
Your personal information will be kept for a maximum of 6 years from the date of the last event you participated in.
Details of any financial transactions relating to you will be retained for a maximum of 7 years from the transaction date.
Your rights
The GDPR provides the following rights for individuals. Not all rights are absolute and therefore will only apply in certain circumstances:
- The right to be informed.
- The right of access.
- The right to rectification.
- The right to erasure.
- The right to restrict processing.
- The right to data portability.
- The right to object.
- Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Officer if you feel that your data has not been handled in accordance with the law.
