Key events and dates
- Pre-Nomination Information Sessions.
- Publication of Notice of Election.
- Delivery of nomination papers to:
- Returning Officer. Calderdale Council, Electoral Services, Mulcture House, Mulcture Hall Road, Halifax. HX1 1SP.
- Must be original 'wet ink' documents and delivered by hand.
- Nomination papers are available from the Returning Officer or download: Local Government Election Nomination Pack.
- Deadline for withdrawal of nomination. (Note: Only the candidate may withdraw.)
- Deadline to notify Returning Officer of appointment of election agent. (Local Council Elections only.)
- Publication of first interim election Notice of Alteration of Electoral Register.
- Publication of statement of persons nominated.
- Returning Officer's briefing session for candidates and their election agents. (Note: This briefing will be online, further details will be sent to candidates/agents.)
- Publication of second interim election Notice of Alteration of Electoral Register.
- Postal vote opening sessions. (More details for candidates to follow.)
- Publication of final election Notice of Alteration of Electoral Register.
- Deadline to notify Returning Officer of appointment of polling and counting agents.
- Verification and count. (Full details will be provided to candidates and their agents.)
Spending limits
£960, plus 8p per elector in the ward. (Those registered to vote on the last day for publication of the Notice of Election.)
