Pupils will be admitted where this school is named on their Education Health and Care Plan.
If applications exceed the planned admission number (PAN), this criteria is used to decide which children are offered places:
2024
- Children looked after and children previously looked after. (For a definition, please see: Glossary - Looked after children.)
- Pupils living within the defined priority (catchment) area who have a brother or sister (including step/half brothers and sisters) permanently resident in the same household and currently attending the school (excluding pupils in their final year).
- Other pupils living within the defined priority (catchment) area.
- Those pupils who do not qualify under Categories 1-3 who have a brother or sister (including step/half brothers and sisters) permanently resident in the same household and currently attending the school (excluding pupils in their final year).
- Other children.
Tie-break If in categories 2-5 above a tie-break is necessary to determine which child is admitted, the child living closest to the school will be given priority for admission.
Random allocation
This will not apply to multiple birth siblings from the same family tied for the final place. We will admit them all, as permitted by the infant class size rules and exceed our PAN.
2025
1. Children in public care (looked after children) and all previously looked after children, including those who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be as a result of being adopted
2. Pupils living within the defined priority (catchment) area who have a brother or sister (including step/half brothers and sisters) permanently resident in the same household and currently attending the school (excluding pupils in their final year).
3. Other pupils living within the defined priority (catchment) area.
4. Those pupils who do not qualify under Categories 1-3 who have a brother or sister (including step/half brothers and sisters) permanently resident in the same household and currently attending the school (excluding pupils in their final year).
5. Other children
Tie-break If in categories 2-5 above a tie-break is necessary to determine which child is admitted, the child living closest to the school will be given priority for admission. Distance is measured from the child’s home to the front gates of the school in a straight line
Random allocation undertaken by the local authority will be used as a tie-break in categories 2-5 above to decide who has highest priority for admission if the distance between a child’s home and the academy/free school is equidistant in any two or more cases.’ Random allocation will not be applied to multiple birth siblings (twins and triplets etc.) from the same family tied for the final place. We will admit them all.
