Privacy Notice – How we use your information
Calderdale Council is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council takes its responsibilities under the Act very seriously.
The information provided by you is collected for the purposes of the investigation, enabling us to respond to your feedback and collecting statistical information for reporting purposes.
Completion of this form/sharing your information with us constitutes consent from you for us to process your data for these purposes.
You have the right to see what information is held about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information removed from our system unless we are required by law or a statutory purpose to keep it. You have the right to complain to the Data Protection Officer if you feel that your data has not been handled in accordance with the law.
You can contact the Council’s Data Protection Officer at information.management@calderdale.gov.uk.
Your name, contact details and complaint or compliment records are recorded electronically on our system for the purpose of the investigation and processing of your feedback.
Information concerning Looked after children that is recorded as a Children’s and Young People’s statutory complaint will be kept up to a maximum of 75 years.
All other information provided will be kept up to a maximum of 10 years.
We will notify you of the retention period which applies when we formally acknowledge your feedback.
