Calderdale Council is registered with the information Commissioners Office (ICO) under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council takes its responsibilities under the Act very seriously.
The information provided by you is collected purely for the purposes of providing you with advice about a Conservation Area. We need to collect this information in order to maintain accurate records of your name and contact details in the event of future enquiries regarding the pre designation and post designation of a Conservation Area. Seeking advice from us constitutes explicit consent from you for us to retain your contact details to enable us to provide advice, both to you but also to provide an historical audit of advice provided and possible works undertaken in a Conservation Area in relation to the Planning (Listed Building & Conservation Areas) Act 1990..

You have the right to see what information is held about you, to have inaccurate information corrected and to have information removed from our system unless we are required by law or a statutory purpose to keep it, by writing to planning.applications@calderdale.gov.uk

Your name and contact details are held in paper format to maintain up to date records. This information will be kept indefinitely to provide historical evidence of the designation of a Conservation Area and subsequent improvement works to it under the Planning (Listed Building & Conservation Areas) Act 1990 unless:-
- Your enquiry is a general one about Conservation and is not relevant to an ongoing designation process or a Conservation Area Improvement Scheme, in which case we will retain your information for a maximum of 1 year after receipt
- or until such time as the data is reviewed by us or removed at your request.
