Privacy Notice - How we use your information
Calderdale Council of Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UJ is registered with the information Commissioners Office (ICO) under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council takes its responsibilities under the Act very seriously. This notice explains how Calderdale Council (as Data Controller) will use your personal data.
What personal information is being processed?
The following personal information provided by you:
- National Insurance Number
- Date of birth
- Bank Details
We will also use information about you from the Benefits and Council Tax systems in order to determine your eligibility.
The purpose of processing
We collect your personal information for the following purpose:
- To record that a COVID Local Support Grant has been paid
- To make the payment securely to your bank account
Legal basis for processing your personal data
The processing of your personal information is necessary as follows:
- GDPR Article 6(1)(e) – for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller
Sharing your personal data
Your information will be shared with the Department for Work and Pensions who have provided the funding - we will never share your information with third parties unless the law allows us to do so.
How long we keep your personal data
Information provided by you for the purpose of the COVID Local Support Grant will be held for 12 months from payment of the grant
