How we use your information
Governor Support requires this data to:
- Update you on changes in legislation, provide updates on what is happening throughout Calderdale and nationally, information on training available, request assistance from other governing bodies when required (such as exclusion panels, complaints etc.).
- Carry out elections for statutory bodies or forums within the Authority – such as Schools Forum, Admissions etc.
Who is your data shared with?
- All correspondence is done via blind copy to ensure privacy.
- If an LA Officer is dealing on a one-to-one basis with your school, your individual contact details can be shared with that Officer. All other correspondence will come via Governor Support.
- No personal data will be shared externally.
How long is my data kept?
Live data is kept by Governors Support until you have resigned or completed your term of office. Archived data will be kept for a maximum period of 2 years, to monitor governor turnover in our schools. However, personal data will be removed from the Archive.
Sharing your information with us constitutes explicit consent from you for us to process your data for this purpose. You may withdraw this consent at any time by writing to debby.simpson@calderdale.gov.uk.
In addition, you have the right to see what information is held about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information removed from our system unless we are required by law or a statutory purpose to keep it and the right to complain to the Data Protection Officer if you feel that your data has not been handled in accordance with the law. We will not share your information without your consent.
