Why we hold and collect this information

The information provided by you is collected for the purposes of:

  • Assessing your application for a Housing Garage Tenancy Agreement.
  • Where your application is successful, for entering you into an Agreement. 
  • Service delivery, including administrating financial transactions.
  • Prevention and detection of crime, including fraud.

Sharing your personal data

Your information may be shared with the Council’s Legal department for the purpose of maintaining accurate records, as well as the Council’s Financial Department for the purposed of taking payments associated with agreement. 

We may also share your information with our contracted enforcement agents, and contracted bailiff services, for the collect of outstanding monies. 

Retaining your personal Information 

Your name and contact details are recorded on the written agreement, on any correspondence to you relating to the tenancy and electronically on our system to maintain up to date records. This information will be kept for the duration of the tenancy agreement, and then a subsequent 6 years after its end or the end of any ensuing correspondence relating to the tenancy agreement.

The lawful basis for the processing your data

  • Article 6(1)(b) – for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering a contract.
