How we use your information
Calderdale Council of Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UJ is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018. The Council takes its responsibilities under the Act very seriously.
The information provided by you or your school is collected purely for the purposes of contacting you in terms of providing you with IT support. We need to collect this information in order to maintain accurate records of your name and contact details, and the details of the IT support required. Sharing your information with us either via email or phone, or via your school, constitutes explicit consent from you for us to process your data for this purpose. Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, or to take steps to enter into a contract with you.
Your data will not be shared outside the Council’s ICT service.
You have the right to see what information is held about you, the right to have inaccurate information corrected, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability and the right to have information removed from our system unless we are required by law or a statutory purpose to keep it, by writing to: it.helpdesk@calderdale.gov.uk.
You have the right to complain to the Data Protection Officer if you feel that your data has not been handled in accordance with the law. You can contact the Council’s Data Protection Officer at information.management@calderdale.gov.uk.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Your name and contact details are recorded electronically on our system to maintain up to date records. These will be held until you or your school advise us that you no longer require a customer account with us, plus a maximum of 6 years, after which time they will be deleted.
