The Council takes its responsibilities as Data Controller under the Data Protection Act and UK GDPR very seriously.
This privacy notice explains how your personal information will be processed by Calderdale Council in respect of your participation in the Money Guiders programme run by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) and commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in order to help you assist members of the public with the management of debt. Money Guiders provides free, ongoing professional development to organisations or practitioners who have money conversations with customers in need.
The type of information we will collect
We collect the following types of information from you or your organisation, and from MaPS:
- Full Name
- Email address
- Organisation name
- Job title
- Learning activity details:
- Module completion – name / date
- Module in progress – name / date
- Last logged into website – date / time
Why we collect and hold this information
Your personal information is required for the purpose of administering our local Money Guiders programme. This is being offered in order to meet a Council priority in terms of reducing inequalities and tackling the cost-of-living crisis. Your data is used:
- To book learners onto inductions with MaPS, to support those wanting to give effective money guidance as part of their job or volunteering role
- To receive learner data back from MaPS and administer the voucher system
- To provide ongoing support and communication
- To help us assess the effectiveness of the programme and to plan and improve future services.
Sharing your personal data
Your information may be obtained from, and shared with the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), who may, with your consent, further share your information with the Money Guiders Programme delivery partners in order to provide your learning:
- Learning Pool
- City & Guilds
- Quaker Social Action
- Reed in Partnership
- Scotland Improvement Service
We will only ever share relevant information about you with third parties where there is a legal basis for us to do so.
The lawful basis for the processing your data
We process personal information and special category data under the following GDPR lawful basis:
- Article 6(1)(a) – your clear consent has given to process your personal data for a specific purpose.
Retaining your personal information
Your personal information will be kept for a maximum period of 12 months from the end of your engagement with the programme and will then be securely destroyed.
Consent
If we rely upon consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you no longer wish to participate in this programme and to withdraw your consent for the processing of your data for this purpose, please contact us at the following email address: antipovertyaction@calderdale.gov.uk.
Your rights
The GDPR provides the following rights for individuals. Not all rights are absolute and therefore will only apply in certain circumstances:
- The right to be informed
- The right of access
- The right to rectification
- The right to erasure
- The right to restrict processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to object
- Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.
