Youth offending service

We offer you a range of interventions and programmes to support pupils.

What we offer

Our dedicated team can offer you a range of interventions and programmes to support pupils. We can:

  • Provide individual preventative pupil support for one day a week.
  • Provide Criminal Justice/Criminal Justice System Group work. (Two members of staff for three hours.)
  • Provide a tailored programme of work (Discrimination by Diversity) to deal with conflict resolution, diversity, cultural awareness and overcome challenges. (One member of staff for three hours, plus resource packs.)
  • Knife Crime Awareness Programme. This is to address specific issues around the use of knives. By targeting the intervention, it is hoped that the young person will understand the impact of knife-carrying. (One member of staff for three hours.)

Restorative practice

  • Restorative practice/solutions in schools aims to reduce bullying and victimisation, manage conflict and improve attendance in schools. Research evidence supports Restorative Practice in schools as a particularly promising approach to improving behaviour and attendance (half day).
  • Anti-social behaviour awareness - one member of staff for three hours.

Pricing

  • The charge for a worker's time is available on request along with the charge of any resource packs.
  • Wherever possible we will work with you to identify any additional funding that could be brought in to support the costs of delivery.
  • Negotiated rates can be discussed to support a whole academy or school academic year Intervention Programme.
  • Linkage to SEALs (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning), ILP (Individual Learning Plan) and the wider curriculum can be discussed and agreed.

"I have worked in a number of schools which have Restorative Approaches, in every school it has the most powerful impact on pastoral systems, because it is about fairness."

"When I came to this school we did have 'fighting in lumps'. Having introduced Restorative Approaches you never hear shouting, it has calmed the whole school down."

"Very useful and informative session. The children got a lot of information and it made them think about young offenders in general. Thank you."

"Useful to make the children think of the wider picture. Not just the crimes but also the effects on the victims and the fact that this could be anybody."
