We also look after 28 closed churchyards and cemeteries.

In Halifax, we manage All Souls (Boothtown) and Lister Lane (Halifax) cemeteries. (Both these sites are now closed for interments.) They are Victorian in design/layout and bear witness to the industrial heritage of Halifax.

  • A memorial testing programme and system is in place.
  • As a general policy, we do not make safe any unstable memorials. These can be repaired at the request of families.
  • Repairs will be recorded in line with Health and Safety requirements.

Buy a grave space

The 'Exclusive Right of Burial' can be bought for 75 years and costs £1,432 (April 2023).

Note: The interment fee is to be paid at the time of using the grave.

We can supply full-sized bricked or earthen graves for up to four interments. (Up to two only at Luddenden Cemetery.)

You can buy half-sized graves for the interment of cremated remains. There are also 'Garden of Remembrance' plots that hold two caskets.

If you want a grave in one of our cemeteries, please make an appointment to meet the cemetery supervisor. They can also give you the forms you will need and price information.

Please see: Contact Bereavement Services.
