The Borough Council of Calderdale (Speed Limit) (B6114 Saddleworth, Barkisland) Order 20**
Currently B6114 Saddleworth Road on both the north and south approaches to Barkisland is subject to the national speed limit with a 30 mph speed limit on entry to the village.
Speed surveys on B6114 Saddleworth Road have shown the 85th percentile speed is in the region of 50 mph.
As a result, from the north it is proposed to reduce the speed limit to 50 mph, in line with the travelled speed, on the main part of Saddleworth Road. A 40 mph buffer zone will be provided on approach to the existing 30 mph speed limit, this length will include a cluster of outlying residential and agricultural properties. From the south it is proposed to reduce the existing national speed limit to 40 mph to provide a buffer zone on the approach to the village.
