Update – 28th November 2024
Following the meeting of the TRO Governing Body on 7th June 2023, the proposed order has been made. See: TRO Governing Body Meeting Minutes 7th June 2023
The Borough Council of Calderdale (On-Street Waiting, Loading and Parking) (Consolidation) Order 2024 (Variation No.5) Order 2024
Planning permission has been granted for a new convenience store on Wyke Old Lane, Bailiff Bridge. A condition of the planning approval was the introduction of parking restrictions to prevent obstructive park in front of and around the new store entrance. As a result of this condition Calderdale Council have drafted proposals to introduce lengths of 'no waiting and no loading at any time' restrictions outside the proposed new store on Wyke Old Lane, Bradford Road and Axminster Drive.
This is intended to prevent vehicles from parking on Wyke Old Lane to either deliver to the store or visit it and impeding traffic flow on that road. The restriction will also maintain sight lines for vehicles leaving the store car park and for the Branxholme business centre opposite the new store.
It is also proposed to introduce a length of 'no waiting and no loading at any time' restriction on A641 Bradford Road. This will maintain sight lines for vehicles that are displaced to park in these areas, as a result of the introduction of the restrictions on Wyke Old Lane.
Similarly, it is also proposed to introduce a length of 'no waiting and no loading at any time' restriction on Axminster Drive. This will maintain sight lines for vehicles that are displaced to park in this area.
