The council can grant a temporary market licence for charitable/fundraising purposes.
To get a licence you must apply and detail your event (at least six weeks before the event). Please note: Refer to the guidance and conditions for consent to help you to complete your application.
If your event is not classed as a market, you will not need consent and will not be charged.
Waiver of markets rights:
- 25 sellers or less: £25.
 - 26 to 50 (maximum) sellers: £1 per car for each seller extra.

The licence issued to operate an occasional temporary market in no way gives the Council's endorsement to:
- How suitable the intended site is;
 - or the ability of the applicant to operate an event.

Please note: Applicants must comply with all statutory and other legal requirements, both civil and criminal. In particular, those relating to:
- consumer goods and services;
 - food safety;
 - health and safety;
 - traffic control;
 - fire safety;
 - planning consents;
 - and Sunday trading.
