The park is in the heart of the Bailiff Bridge community. The gardens have areas of herbaceous, shrub and perennial planting and also include open areas of design grass. The original path network and internal ground modelling are still intact from the original 1921 design.

The local community works hard with the Council to bring the park up to this standard. Also, to continue to improve the area for the benefit of all.
General information
The unique Portland stone Cenotaph (carved in the 1920s) is the centre-piece of the park. It has been restored back to its glory and enhanced with ornamental lighting. It is also the centre of Bailiff Bridge Memorial day services.
The memorial shelter was built in 1921 by the owners of Firth Carpets. It is a First World War memorial and place for local people to enjoy.
Recent landmark improvements to the park and local area have been driven by:
- The local community.
- The Friends of Bailiffe Bridge Memorial Park and Residents Association.
The pavilion has been restored back to its original condition and to English Heritage standards. It has:
- Views across the park.
- Four rose beds.
- Internal lighting, so it can be used all year.
The park gained a Green Flag Award® for 2014/2015. This scheme is the benchmark standard for parks and green spaces in the UK. It recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the country.
The park is often used as a meeting place for the local community. It also hosts a number of events throughout the year. For details of coming events and community contacts, please see the park's noticeboard.
The park is on Bradford Road, north of Brighouse town centre. The main pedestrian access to the park is from the 4 entrances surrounding the park centre. Two of these are on Bradford Road and two on Victoria Road. It is more than 1½ mile from Brighouse, but near to the Kirklees and Bradford Boundaries. You can catch any bus from Brighouse to Bradford and Leeds and there is a bus stop at the park.
