Your initial payment of £20 will be to secure your place and will not be refundable. Once you have completed the first two sessions and you feel ready to progress onto week 3, you will be required to make your remaining payment of £240.
Course description
This course will allow the learner to cover a variety of different topics in order to develop skills to live well.
Some of the topics covered on the course are:
- Confidence in the kitchen and laundry (using kitchen appliances safely and effectively).
- Getting around and about (public transport, road safety and general directions).
- Personal hygiene.
- Building friendships (developing social and emotional skills, communication and effective listening).
- Working in a team.
- Looking after your money.
- Staying safe in society.
Course level
Entry Level - Qualifications at Entry 1 to Entry 3 recognise basic knowledge and skills used in everyday life or in the workplace, and help to build confidence.
Who is this course for?
Residents of Calderdale aged 19+ with learning difficulties and disabilities that are currently working at Entry 1 or below. The course aims to ensure that all learners are given the the same opportunities to access appropriate and relevant education to improve their life chances.
What do I need to bring?
You do not need to bring anything to this class. All the resources will be provided for you.
Assessment process
Your tutor will give you an assessment to check what you already know. This information will help the tutor to design your lessons to match the content of the units for you to achieve the best results.
Your teacher will use the assessment results to plan lessons to support your progress.
