You will:
- Learn to bake simple savoury dishes and tasty treats like biscuits, buns, and traybakes.
- Practice following recipes, weighing ingredients, and using kitchen tools safely.
- Build teamwork skills by baking together in a supportive group.
- Explore how to price your bakes and handle money confidently.
- Design and package your bakes ready for selling.
- Take part in planning and running a small bake sale.
- Learn about food hygiene and safety.
- Boost your confidence through practical, hands-on activities.
- Develop communication and customer service skills.
- A fun and rewarding way to build life skills and connect with your community.
- Plan how to spend the profits as a group.

Residents of Calderdale aged 19+ with learning disabilities who want to meet new people and improve their independence while learning new skills at a pace that’s suitable for them.

What do I need to bring?
You will use Google Classroom throughout your course to view work from your lessons, receive messages from your tutor, and access online resources. You can access this on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop/computer. Your tutor will support you to log-in during your first lesson, and the Learner Support team is always on hand to help with any issues.
