Good mental health is not about being happy all the time. It is about being able to adapt and overcome the ups and downs that happen in life.
This course will help you find 'your toolkit' to become more resilient, both inside and out, mentally and physically!
You will:
- Improve strength, flexibility, coordination and balance as well as your mental fitness.
- Boost your energy levels and circulation.
- Improve your posture and reduce muscle and joint pain.
- Manage stress better though breathwork techniques and practical meditation exercises.
- Explore sleep hygiene and how you can improve the quality of your sleep.
- Learn about the microbiome and the importance of protein and fibre.
- Pick up some easy health hacks to improve your health from the inside out. Also, you will try some new healthy foods, such as overnight oats or fermented products.
- Reduce any feelings of loneliness and isolation by connecting with others in your community.

Who this course is for
- Residents of Calderdale aged 19 plus;
- who want to improve their mental or physical health and wellbeing and learn how to live a happier lifestyle.
Zero expectation of initial fitness or flexibility required.
What you need to bring
- We have mats, but you can bring your own.
- Clothing that is loose fitting, in which you can be mobile.
- Blanket or towel for relaxation at the end of the class.
- An open mind to try things new.
You will use Google Classroom throughout your course to:
- view work from your lessons;
- receive messages from your tutor;
- and access online resources.
You can get this on your smartphone, tablet or laptop/computer.
Your tutor will support you to log-in during your first lesson.
The Learner Support team is always on hand to help with any issues.
