Learn maths skills that are used in everyday life, and build your confidence working on your own and as a group.
You will:
- Build your confidence with everyday maths skills.
- Learn how your new skills can help you in real-life situations when budgeting, understanding prices, telling the time, and reading timetables.
- Practice checking your own work for mistakes.
- Feel more independent by doing practical tasks on your own or with less support.
- Practice numeracy and teamworking skills when working other learners in a friendly and supportive classroom.
- Explore fun, hands-on activities to learn in an exciting way.
- Feel confident to use your skills outside of the classroom with your family and friends, or in a community/volunteering group.

Who is this course for?
Residents of Calderdale aged 19+ with learning disabilities who want to meet new people and improve their independence while learning new skills at a pace that’s suitable for them.
First Step – The start of your learning journey. Explore how you can build your confidence, connect with others, and learn new skills to start achieving your goals.
What do I need to bring?
You will use Google Classroom throughout your course to view work from your lessons, receive messages from your tutor, and access online resources. You can access this on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop/computer. Your tutor will support you to log-in during your first lesson, and the Learner Support team is always on hand to help with any issues.
