Explore your health and wellbeing through creative textile crafts. This course offers a calm, welcoming space where you can try techniques such as:
- Shibori (Japanese-style tie dye);
- eco printing;
- natural dyeing;
- and slow stitching.
These mindful, hands-on activities provide a safe space to experiment, take risks and learn how to fix mistakes. This helps you to build resilience and adaptability. Good mental health is not about being happy all the time. It is about managing life's ups and downs.
You will:
- Improve dexterity, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, through practical tasks like slow stitching and eco printing.
- Reduce stress by focusing on calming, repetitive processes, such as stitching or natural dyeing.
- Practice mindfulness by staying present in the moment during creative activities.
- Boost your self-esteem by turning your ideas into something tangible and meaningful, such as your own dyed or stitched piece.
- Reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation by connecting with others in a friendly, social environment.
