Working as a volunteer
- Be able to identify the context of volunteering.
- Understand what tasks are necessary.

- Be able to evaluate self in the role as a volunteer.
Using local and seasonal produce to create healthy meals
- Know different kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Know about a balanced diet.
- Understand the importance of eating a healthy diet.
- Understand what is meant by local and seasonal produce.
- Know about simple cooked snacks.
- Know the benefits and disadvantages of using local and seasonal produce in cooking.
- Be able to create a healthy meal using local and seasonal produce.
Course level
Entry Level - Qualifications at Entry 1 to Entry 3 recognise basic knowledge and skills used in everyday life or in the workplace, and help to build confidence.
Who is this course for?
Residents of Calderdale aged 19+ that are currently working at Entry 3. The course aims to give learners an opportunity to consolidate their skills that will enhance their volunteering experience in the hospitality sector.

You do not need to bring anything to this class. All the resources will be provided for you.
Assessment process
Your tutor will give you an assessment to check what you already know. This information will help the tutor to design your lessons to match the content of the units for you to achieve the best results.
Your teacher will use the assessment results to plan lessons to support your progress.
