Explore your health and wellbeing through being creative. Art is a safe space where we can experiment, take risks and learn to fix our mistakes to become resilient.
Good mental health is not about being happy all the time. It is about being able to adapt and overcome the ups and downs that happen in life.
Learning to crochet offers a creative and calming way to support your well-being and develops practical skills.
In this friendly and supportive course, you will:
- Improve dexterity, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through practical crochet techniques.
- Reduce stress and promote relaxation by focusing on repetitive, mindful movements.
- Boost your self-esteem by turning your ideas into finished items such as toys, hats, scarves and home decorations.
- Take notice of small details and build confidence by learning pattern reading and shaping techniques.
- Foster creativity and imagination while creating more complex, made-to-measure pieces like cardigans, jumpers and shawls in a follow-on course.
- Reduce feelings of isolation by socialising with others and sharing your progress in a supportive group.
- Embrace new experiences, enjoy a sense of achievement and gain the confidence to continue learning and developing your skills.
