What we can do for you
- Manage the transport provision across Calderdale in line with legislation, Council policy and nationally recognised 'best practice'.
- Assess eligibility for pupils who transfer to secondary academies or schools. This includes those with a statement of Special Educational Needs and in year assessments as necessary.
- Provide information to parents / carers on available transport.
- Arrange transport for pupils who qualify.
- Manage the Appeals process.
- Work in partnership to provide the necessary network and academy or school services.
- The Independent Travel Scheme. Details of this service are at Independent travel scheme.
- Promote sustainable travel methods.
- Attend open evenings and form filling surgeries to offer advice and guidance on home to school transport.
- Work in partnership to improve behaviour on school transport.
- Transport risk assessments.
- Monitor and deal with bus, taxi and / or specialist transport complaints.
- Manage the process for bus pass re-orders and carry out any financial checks that are needed.
- Deal with day to day enquiries / changes about transport.
- Organise home to school transport for Children's Social Services and Adult Health and Social Care.
- Plan future needs.
- Evaluate service provision.
Pricing
No Charge. There is no charge for the above services. Extra costs due to changes to a school day or term dates are passed onto the academy or school.
