Moorfield Street, Halifax - School Street

Works to enhance Moorfield Street by laying new paving and kerbing and also providing planters, trees, benches and bollards.

Update – 15th April 2025
The order has now been made. Details can be found in the supporting documents.

Following the introduction of a school road closure on Moorfield Street that was recently made permanent, works to enhance Moorfield Street by laying new paving and kerbing and also providing planters, trees, benches and bollards will be carried out.

To maintain and improve access on the roads in this area and also assist with vehicle movements, particularly for large vehicles such as bin wagons and delivery vehicles, whilst also trying to maintain as much on-street parking as possible, some additional waiting and loading restrictions are required on Moorfield Street and Eldroth Road. It is also proposed to shorten some lengths of the double yellow lines on Mellor Terrace to free up additional parking space.

The above proposals require changes to existing Traffic Regulation Orders.
