To put a skip on the public highway, you must appoint a skip operator to do this for you.
The skip operator will need permission from our: Streetworks team.
Note: Skips should be placed on the carriageway and not on the footway, pavement or verge.
How to apply
- Complete the application form:
- Email the form to: email@example.com.
- Give full details of the location any skip and dates the permit is needed for.
Note: You do not need to pay 'up front', skip licences are invoiced quarterly. You must give the full invoice address and email address.
A skip licence is £30 and valid for 28 days. If a licence is needed for more than this a new application is needed before the original licence expires.
Please note: Skip licences for 'A roads' are only valid for 14 days. This is to help ease congestion on Calderdale's roads.
