Community Safety Wardens

Community Wardens provide high profile foot patrols in residential areas of the Borough. As well as a range of services to make our streets and public spaces cleaner and safer.

Our wardens work across Calderdale to help keep our communities safe.

This service aims to create a step change in the way we respond to nuisance and quality of life issues. These include:

  • Unauthorised traveller camps;
  • and anti-social behaviour.

They provide high profile foot patrols in residential areas of the Borough. As well as a range of services to make our streets and public spaces cleaner and safer.

It builds on and works along side our other services with its focus on enforcement and being seen.

They:

  • Look after our public space CCTV and manage a number of radio networks across Calderdale.
  • They have the powers needed to issue Fixed Penalty Notices to tackle dog foulinglittering and fly-tipping.
  • Work closely with other agencies, such as the Police and Fire Service. This is to provide support in times of need and through intelligence sharing.
  • Are the Council's eyes and ears on the ground and are deployed where needed in Calderdale.
