We want to hear from people in Calderdale, if you:
- Have (or have had) Long COVID.
- Care for (or have cared for) someone with it.
- Are from a local community/voluntary group that could support people with it.
What Long COVID is
COVID can cause symptoms that last for weeks or months after the infection has gone. This is often known as Long COVID. Experiences can vary with a range of symptoms that can change over time. Some common examples are:
- Tiredness.
- Brain fog.
- Muscle aches.
- Breathlessness.
In Calderdale, close to 6,000 people could have Long COVID.
For more details and how/when to get support, visit: Coronavirus - guidance and patient information (NHS).
Some people find it helpful to talk to others with Long COVID. If you would like to chat about it, please visit: Long COVID Support Group Calderdale (Facebook).
Long COVID Ideas Fund
We have created this fund to make a difference to the lives of our residents with Long COVID. We want people who have experienced it to:
- get involved;
- share their ideas about the support that might help;
- and decide how to use the fund.
You know what it is like to live with or support others with Long COVID. So, you are the experts and best placed to decide how we should use the fund. We want your voices to shape what happens in Calderdale.
