Our shared commitment
We will:
- Meet at least quarterly to think about the future of the Borough over the next 7 to 10 years.
- Develop a shared vision for Calderdale that connects us all as partners.
- Seek to build and retain trust with our communities and foster community cohesion throughout the Borough.
- Share key strategic information and seek to understand the impact across Calderdale.
- Focus on areas where we deem there will be opportunities across organisations. This is to improve the lives of those who live and work in Calderdale and includes:
- Prevention and early intervention. To develop a clear understanding of what these mean to our different organisations. Also, to develop a joined-up preventative approach to care.
- Inequalities. To under the challenges that this brings to each of us.
- Inclusive growth in the local economy. To develop our role as large employers and investors in skills and workforce development. This is to support a highly-skilled workforce to take, make and keep jobs within the local economy. Also, understanding the benefits of this for good physical and mental well-being.
- Make the most of capital investments within Calderdale. Also, to seek to make sure that we get the widest possible benefit to each of us.
- Explore opportunities around integrated models of service provision. This is to make sure we deliver modern services that meet the physical, mental and social needs of people.
- Make sure there is effective engagement with the VCS, business and other key community anchor organisations on key strategic issues. Also, to give early consideration of how we can best achieve this.
- Support the correct use of all our resources and expertise to jointly tackle our agreed and shared goals.
- Work to maximise our impact as leaders in the place and in the system. Both locally and within the region for the benefit of residents and businesses in Calderdale.
