How to transfer to Calderdale

The process is much simpler than you might think. We aim to complete it in less than 12 weeks from enquiry.

The steps:

  1. Phone us: (01422) 266020 or complete our online form to arrange a call back or home visit.
  2. We come out to visit you and talk about fostering with Calderdale.
  3. When you decide to transfer to us, you will need to tell your agency about your decision.
  4. We will do an updated assessment, which will not take as long as your original one.
  5. We will invite you to attend our fostering panel. They will recommend whether to approve you.
  6. After panel, our Agency Decision Maker will decide whether to approve you as one of our foster carers.
