- Ideally, the landlord and tenant should check and sign an inventory at the beginning of the tenancy. This is to make it clear what furnishings have been provided.
- You should give your tenant written instructions or show them how to operate any:
- heating system;
- washing machine;
- burglar alarm;
- and other similar things.
- Check the smoke alarm is working.
- Check you have given enough keys for the doors and window locks.
