RESPECT Young People's Programme

This is a specialised intervention for families.

It is for families where the children are:

  • aged between 10 and 14 years;
  • and are violent or abusive towards their parents or carers.

What it encourages:

  • Everyone to take a role in stopping the abuse.
  • Learn respectful ways to manage conflict between themselves.
  • Reduce verbal aggression and violence in close relationships.
  • Improve emotional well-being. (To cope with anxiety, anger, depression and emotions.)
  • Improve the way the family communicates and their relationships.
  • Build parenting confidence and skills.
  • Increase the young person's insight to their own behaviour.

It is a 12-week intervention. It aims to address children to parent violence and abuse.
