The Planned Admission Number for admission to the Reception class is 90.
Children with Special Educational Needs who have an EHC Plan which names the Academy, will be allocated a place.
If there are more applications than places, they will be allocated with this order of priority:
- Looked after children (including those who were in care but are now adopted or subject to a residence or guardianship order).
- Pupils who have a brother or sister (including step/half brothers and sisters) permanently resident in the same household and who will be at the school at the start of the academic year.
- Those children on roll in the nursery at Whitehill Community Academy in the previous academic year from 1st January and are still in attendance at the time of allocations.
- Proximity of the pupil's home address to the school.
This is calculated using a 'straight line' measure of distance:
- From the front door of the child's permanent home address to the front gate of the school.
- The Council's GIS will be the system used to measure this.
Random allocation will be used as a tie break in category 4 if the distance for two children's homes is the same. This process will be independently verified.
Withinfields Primary (3 to 11 years, Community)
Wood Bank (3 to 11 years, Community Special)
Woodhouse Primary (4 to 11 years, Community)
Distances
These are measured using:
- A straight-line measurement from the pupil's permanent home to the closest designated school gate.
- The Council's GIS system. Note: No other method of measuring distance will be considered.
Each property has a coordinate taken from Ordnance Survey ADDRESS-POINT data. This is the point from which the distance measurement will be taken from.
