A-board guidance

Guidance on A-board licences and how to apply. A-boards are A-shaped removable advertising boards that can be placed on the pavement.

Licences

An A-board licence allows businesses to place removable A-boards on the pavement outside their premises. This is for cafés, restaurants, bars and shops in the Hebden Bridge conservation area (pilot area). A licence only permits the use of A-boards sized 60x100cm on the footpath (the highway). It does not cover any other activities (pavement café licence/alcohol and such).

For more details, please see: A-board licensing pilot.

Applications will be processed within 14 days of receipt, including a brief 7-day public consultation. The Calderdale Highways Department will be consulted and the final decision rests with them.
